In this space I'm going to be talking about what's new in Mimitimbi - but first of all let me tell you something:
In 2017, I was with my best friend at her house in Bocas del Toro, Panama. She had just had her first baby. We spent days, afternoons and nights together on the deck talking about future plans and dreams. I, who have always made things by hand, was knitting a top and she was surely cooking something delicious.
The truth is that we have always talked about creating projects. At that time I was 'brainstorming' a name for the IG page where I would share my creations with my family and friends. One of the requirements was that the name be something Panamanian. Well, actually, that was the only requirement. I used all kinds of names that 'weren't quite right' until I realized there was something I really wanted to pay homage to.
Mimitimbi is a brand of objects inspired by the beach and its elements. I want to give the world the same energy that the sun, sea and sand give me through positive designs that remind us of home.
